Are there any side effects or risks to CT Lung Screening?

The benefit of an accurate diagnosis far outweighs the risk. While having a CT lung screening does expose patients to radiation, it is equivalent to the amount of natural radiation we receive annually. Nursing mothers should wait 24 hours before breast-feeding. If there is any chance you are pregnant you should let our technician know.

When will I get the results and how?

In general, your results are available within 24 hours. For a nominal fee and as a service to our patients, you may request a CD of your results from the Huntington Outpatient Imaging Center where your CT Lung Screening was conducted.
