CT

Computed Tomography (CT) scan, also called CAT scan, is a type of diagnostic test that combines X-rays and computer technology to provide views of soft tissue, bones and blood vessels. The technology creates sectional images, or "slices," of the organs, tissues or vessels under evaluation.

CT Heart Screening

Coronary Artery Calcification Scoring (CACS) uses non-invasive, high-speed computerized tomography (CT) to scan the heart to produce an in-depth view of the heart and blood vessels and determines your risk of coronary heart disease. The exam looks for calcium deposits in the arteries, then calculates a calcium score.

CT Lung Screening

Low Dose Lung Screening is a screening exam that focuses on the lungs to detect lung cancer at its early stages. New CT technology and methodology finds cancer before any symptoms arise. The majority of cancers found with CT technology can be cured if diagnosed in the early stages.

Total Body CT Screening

A full body CT screening scans your heart, lungs, abdomen, pelvis, and other critical internal organs, all in one exam. It is the best option for optimum information and reassurance about your health.

PET/CT

The biograph PET/CT is a diagnostic imaging system that combines PET and CT into one unit. PET utilizes a low-level radiopharmaceutical to visualize processes or functions within the body. CT stands for Computed Tomography or CAT Scan. This technique uses x-rays to make cross-sectional images of your body.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, is a method of obtaining images from inside the human body through the use of high-frequency sound waves. The reflected sound wave echoes are recorded and displayed as a real-time visual image. No ionizing radiation (x-ray) is involved in ultrasound imaging.

Vascular Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging of the body's veins and arteries can help the radiologist see and evaluate blockages to blood flow, such as clots in veins and plaque in arteries. With knowledge about the arterial blood flow gained from an ultrasound image, radiologists can often determine whether you are a good candidate for a procedure like angioplasty.

Virtual Colonoscopy

Virtual colonoscopy is an alternative to traditional colonoscopy and is less invasive. Sometimes called CT colonography, it uses cutting edge cat scan technology to examine the entire colon. The scan takes three dimensional images which are interpreted by our radiologists.

High Field MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams enable physicians to see inside the body without using X-rays. Instead, MRI creates images by using radio waves, a computer and a powerful magnet approximately 7,000-times stronger than the magnetic force of the earth.

Breast MRI

Breast MRI is a procedure that uses Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), an imaging device that creates a combination of magnetic fields and radio waves (no radiation) to produce images of the human anatomy, specifically breast tissue. Each exam produces hundreds of images and 3-dimensional views of the breast.

Neurological MRI

Neurological MRI exams provide excellent diagnostic quality images of the brain and spine. It is a valuable tool for identifying and diagnosing common neurological problems such as tumors, hearing loss, strokes, aneurysms and spinal trauma.

Unlike CT and x-ray, a Neurological MRI is the best choice for examining the brain and spine because it more clearly differentiates between similar tissues.

An MRI scan of the brain is one of the most sensitive tests available for diagnosing strokes, multiple sclerosis, masses and congenital abnormalities. It is an excellent way to see how the brain is functioning and allows physicians to determine if surgery is needed and what risks are associated with it.

Musculoskeletal MRI

While a Musculoskeletal MRI is primarily used to image the spine, knee and shoulder, it also can be used to study almost every joint in the body, including the hips, wrists, and hands.

Because an MRI produces such clear pictures of soft tissue structures near and around bones, it is one of the best choices for examination of the body's major joints, the spine for disk disease and soft tissues of the extremities. MRI is widely used to diagnose sports-related injuries, as well as work-related disorders caused by repeated strain, vibration or forceful impact.

Using MRI images, physicians can locate and identify the cause of pain, swelling or bleeding in the tissues in and around the joints and bones. The images allow the physician to clearly see tiny tears and injuries to tendons, ligaments and muscles and even some fractures that cannot be seen on x-rays.In addition, MRI images can give physicians a clear picture of degenerative disorders, such as arthritis, deterioration of joint surfaces or a herniated disk.

Finally, a Musculoskeletal MRI is also useful for the diagnosis and characterization of infections (osteomyelitis, for example) and tumors (metastases, for example) involving bones and joints.
