Are there any side effects or risks to CT Heart Screening?

The benefit of an accurate diagnosis far outweighs the risk. While CT heart screening does expose patients to radiation, it is equivalent to the amount of natural radiation we receive annually. But nursing mothers should wait for 24 hours before breast-feeding. If there is any chance you are pregnant you should let our technician know.

When will I get the results and how?

In general, your results are available within 24 hours. For a nominal fee, and as a service to our patients, you may request a CD of your results from the Huntington Outpatient Imaging Center where your CT Heart Screening was conducted.
